Womack Consulting Group

Founded in 2005 by leadership strategist and brand consultant LaKesha Womack, Womack Consulting Group (WCG) has grown into a nationally trusted firm providing strategic planning, organizational development, and leadership training for businesses, nonprofits, publishers, and faith-based institutions. What began as grassroots economic development work in rural communities has evolved into a multi-sector consulting practice serving hundreds of clients across the country.

Launching Strategic Support for Rural Entrepreneurs

Womack Consulting Group began when LaKesha partnered with rural Chambers of Commerce through the Women’s Business Center, delivering small business training, strategic planning support, and entrepreneurship coaching to rural and underserved communities. Her early work focused on strengthening local business ecosystems, supporting women entrepreneurs, and helping community leaders build sustainable economic growth strategies.

Birmingham Expansion: Business Development & Capital Access

After relocating to Birmingham, Alabama, LaKesha expanded WCG’s services while working with the Birmingham Business Resource Center, a regional leader in small business financing and development. This experience enhanced the firm’s expertise in business planning, brand strategy, capital readiness, and economic growth.

Charlotte Growth: National Consulting Across Sectors

WCG entered its most significant growth phase in Charlotte, North Carolina, where LaKesha refined the firm’s focus on leadership development, organizational strategy, and brand consulting. WCG became a strategic partner to major institutions, including:

  • ASPIRE Community Capital: leading strategic planning, program design, executive leadership development, and serving as Fractional Chief Strategy Officer.

  • Judson Press: guiding brand strategy, curriculum development, digital publishing, and editorial support.

  • American Baptist Home Mission Societies: strengthening ministry development, leadership training, and organizational systems for national faith-based programs.

Over the past 20 years, WCG has worked with hundreds of additional clients, providing consulting services that help leaders improve performance, strengthen branding, and build sustainable growth strategies.
